Annual Becoming Baby-Friendly in Oklahoma Summit

14th Annual BBFOK Summit - Information

The 14th Annual BBFOK Summit will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Metro Tech, Springlake Campus, Business Conference Center located at 1900 Springlake Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73111. Lactation room available for pumping/nursing attendees.

The Summit will begin at 8:30am and end at 4:00pm.This is an in-person event with continental breakfast and lunch provided. Registration is $30 per person and will close on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 5:00pm(CT). Certificate of attendance provided to all who attend and evaluate the Summit. Nursing contact hours (which can be submitted as LCERPs) are currently pending.

This year's speakers all practice in Oklahoma and will give their insight on how breastfeeding impacts their various areas of expertise. This year's topics will include: Donor milk programs, High-risk breastfeeding moms, Communicating with providers, Interdisciplinary Tongue-Tie care, Breast pumps from insurance, Cancer prevention and more!

for hospital staff (15 hour course) and providers (3 hour course).

  • YES! After the Summit, submit the agenda & your certificate of attendance to IBLCE. The topics covered during the Summit are listed as appropriate L-CERPs topics in the CERPs Guide.

The goal of the Summit is to provide expert speakers to discuss subjects related to breastfeeding and the process to become (and remain) a Baby-Friendly Designated Hospital. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Designation is an national recognition earned by hospitals who have implemented policies and practices supportive of breastfeeding. Hospitals designated as Baby-Friendly have demonstrated best practice in the care of mothers and newborns & improved breastfeeding rates. Becoming Baby-Friendly in Oklahoma (BBFOK) is a statewide effort to help hospitals improve maternity care and increase the number of Baby-Friendly hospitals in Oklahoma.
